POTENTIAL DISTRIBUTION ON CATHODICALLY PROTECTED STEEL PIPE PILES

Abstract  The finite element method was applied to calculate the potential distribution and current distribution on a cathodically protected steel pipe pile. In the calculations, the pipe pile, includion both the submerged and buried sections, was considered as a whole. The effects of some factors were examined, such as water resistivity, coatings, spacing between the pile and anode, as well as anode length. The results thus derived could be recommended for reference in the cathodic protection engineering design.
