Current Status of the Surface Treatment for Magnesium Alloy

Abstract  The current status of the study on the surface treatment technology for magnesium alloys is reviewed. The topics covered include chemical conversion, self-assembled monomolecular, anodizing, electroplating and chemical plating, liquid phase deposition and sol-gel coating, thermal spray coating, physical vapor deposition, laser cladding alloy. And the development tendency of the surface treatment technology for magnesium alloys is presented at the end of this paper.
