A STUDY OF CORROSION RESISTANT MULTILAYER PLATING OF NICKEL--IRON ALLOY

Abstract The steady state corrosion potential of the electroplated nickel-iron alloys with different iron contents has been measuted.The potential diffe- nce curves of any two adjacent layers have also been measured by the galv- anostatic method for anodic dissolution.The corrosion resistance of various multilayer plating systems' has been examined by the EC(Electrolytic Corrosion) test as developed by Saur and Basso. Experimental results show that the corrosion resistance of the multilayer plating system of semibright Ni-10Fe/bright Ni-45Fe/bright Ni-10Fe/ Cr is better than that of Cu/semibright Ni/bright Ni/Cr.
